Make it a double header Illini/ATO Golf weekend!

Peter Korst ’76 asked me to share the following about another great golf opportunity for Illini fans – FRIDAY – AUGUST 11th, 2017 – DEERFIELD GOLF CLUB
 
Dane, I am a member of the University Illinois Department of Recreation, Sports and Tourism Alumni Advisory Board. There is a golf outing fund raiser that supports scholarships for students in that department that I think some of guys may be interested in considering. The outing features Illini sports greats as the main attraction with whom you golf and interact. It is a pretty impressive lineup. I am asking if you might send this notification to the distribution list.

Phil Coover ’04 interviews Craig Nadborne ’78 on his Real Estate for Breakfast Podcast

Check out Phillip Coover’s ’04 latest “Real Estate for Breakfast” podcast. His guest is Gamma Zeta ’78 Craig Nadborne. Craig is an office tenant rep broker and senior managing director at Bradford Allen. They discuss the Bradford Allen quarterly report and the state of the office market in downtown Chicago. Craig advises on the current rental rates, total inventory, the difference between A, B and C class buildings, current trends in new office buildings and renovating existing buildings, and what’s to come in future quarters. I have a favor to ask. Last year, the UI Alumni Association launched a program – Illinois Alumni Insiders – that helped us better connect and engage with young alumni. Participants had the opportunity to provide feedback about existing and proposed UI Alumni Association programs and services; offer insights into what young alumni are seeking from their alumni association; and test the marketing of messages, images and campaigns. All communication was facilitated via an online platform that was concise, targeted, and provided real-time analytics. We received very valuable feedback from this program.

We are now seeking Illinois alumni ages 36-55 to participate in the second round of Illinois Alumni Insiders. ATO Gamma Zeta Private Equity Networking Lunch

Private equity firms raised nearly $300 billion in new funds during 2015 and they did it again in 2016.  That means that there are huge opportunities in this space.  Whether you are directly involved in a Private Equity firm, in a financial services, accounting or consulting firm that works with PE, own or are an executive in a mid market business or division of a large business that may have an interest in PE investment or otherwise have a career interest somewhere in this world you should be interested.

Steven Ogden ’13 wins Fall 2016 Last Tau Standing NFL Survivor Pool!

Congrats to Steven Ogden ’13, winner of the Fall 2016 Last Tau Standing NFL Survivor Pool! He’ll get his name on the trophy which we display at the chapter house and a cool $850 winner’s share of the pool. He beat out Eddie McElroy ’78 in a close finish that went right up to the 17th week of the season and Frank Kulze ’75 who got knocked out in week 14. Thanks to all who participated as we raised another $850 or so for the annual fund!
