Docs Seth and TSully ’78s in Honduras

Hello Guys,

Please take a look at the note below from Dr. Seth Berl ’78 regarding his upcoming medical mission trip to Honduras along with dentist, Dr. Tom “TSully” Sullivan.  Seth is leading two groups who will stay one week each with the first group leaving February 28.  I realize that this is very late notice to participate but it never hurts to ask.  Maybe some of you have been thinking about doing something like this and just need someone to reach out and say “let’s go”.  And… how cool would it be if a group of Gamma Zeta ATOs would come together … “to have no narrower limits within which to work together for the elevation of man than the outlines of the world“.
If you’d be interested in joining Seth and TSully, please contact Seth at  sberl@moultriega.net or 229-850-0019.  They also welcome donations.  Please send checks payable to Heritage Church and mail to:
Att: Dr. Seth Berl
1825 Franklin Street
Moultrie, GA 31768

This is a fantastic opportunity for a pre-med or pre-dental student as it will offer practical experience unavailable anywhere else.  If you’d be interested in sponsoring a Gamma Zeta undergrad please contact me (daneluhrsen@gmail.com or 630-638-8572) and I’ll match you up with a qualified student.  Cost to send one student would be about $1,750 though we could probably challenge the student to raise a portion of the funds.
Here’s a link to a blog with some pictures that TSully did about his experience last year on this trip.  Also, here’s a link to a page of Q&A that Seth has compiled – Honduras Info 2015.
Seth mentioned that he especially needs medical support for the team that will be participating March 7-14 but he can use just about any kind of help either week.  Please pass this on to any family, friends or colleagues who you think might be interested.L&R,

Dane

Hi Dane

Seth Berl here.   last year you told me to contact you when I was planning another mission trip.   Our team,  which includes Tom Sullivan from the class of 78, will be in La Esperanza, Intibuca, Honduras  Feb 28 – March 14.   One team goes from Feb. 28 – March 7 and a second team will come in March 7 – 14.  Sully is on team 1.  I am the leader of both teams and will stay 2 weeks as will my wife Linda.  If you can put something out on the ATO network asking for volunteers and donations,  I would greatly appreciate it.  We need medical and dental people including doctors, dentists, nurses,  PA’s and NP’s.  We also need workers without any medical training.  No spanish is required.  We will have translators.  Also we take about $12,000 worth of medicine and are looking for donations to offset the cost.

If anyone is interested in going on the trip I can send them information by email and then follow up with a phone call.   they can email me at  sberl@moultriega.net or call at 229-850-0019.

I have been leading these medical teams for 11 years and we have a great system in place.  I hope we can get some brothers involved.  Also this is a great way for children to get involved in mission work with their parents.  We allow age 14 and up but high school students must be accompanied by a parent.

Thanks

VTL

Seth
