Throwback Thursday – The link previously posted about Joe Hagerty ‘17.5 being the “Greek Crush of the Week” reminded me of previous versions of Greek “society” columns that used to appear in the Daily Illini. For today’s “Throwback Thursday”, check out an old column from the DI called YOURSELF AND OTHERS from March 12, 1940 which includes a fun item mentioning Gamma Zeta Charlie Caudle ’41. Charlie also was the editor of another similar column called the Campus Scout. This occurred quite a bit before my time but I do remember the buzzer systems at the sororities. Are they still around??
Congrats (I think?) to Joe Hagerty ‘17.5 – Greek Crush of the Week!
On Monday, April 27 Gamma Zeta ATO beat Pikes 3-2 in a Charity Hockey Match to benefit Illini Veterans. Over 300 fans attended the match and over $2,200 was raised to be donated to the Illini Veterans!! Great job guys working with Pikes to benefit this important organization and thanks to Brett Freedland ’16 for all of his leadership to pull this off!

PointDrive introduces the first sales presentation tool optimized for the delivery of content. Sales meetings inevitably end with a request to send more information. That used to mean a disjointed email with multiple attachments and links to websites and videos. PointDrive consolidates those pieces of content into one single link that when clicked brings the recipient to an experience proven to drive more engagement. Continue reading
Jimmy K. reports that the Gamma Zetas took first and second in the the Phi Sigma Sigma Golf Outing Championship this past weekend. The girls came over and presented our prizes. We shot 9 under for 9 holes at the orange and blue course (Winning team: Jimmy Kowalczyk ’16, Sal Fratto ’16, Johnny Navarro ’16, Alex Karl ’16). It was a best ball scramble. Quinn won the longest drive challenge and Schwartz came in second in closest to the pin with 8in. ( a girl got it inside of 8in to win it ?? ) Second place team: Alex Schwartz ’15, Sam Less ’15, Quinn Thomas ’17, Charlie Steinhoff ’18.
Kyle, for those who weren’t at the “Tau Tank” event, tell us a little about ClearContract and what progress you’ve made since that event?
First, thank you Dane for revitalizing the alumni community. It has been great to get to know GZ’s from multiple eras. For me it has led not only to multiple friendships but also a number of fruitful business relationships.
When I spoke at Tau Tank we were pre-product, pre-revenue and still very focused on solving a niche problem for a niche industry. Now we are working with Microsoft!
In the last year we’ve launched with a number of paying customers in the financial services space and have grown our employee base by 2.5x (what I really mean by this is we have grown our team from 2 to 5 J). Our team is currently in Seattle working with Microsoft to expand our product functionality and distribution channels. We’re leveraging the Microsoft Office suite to make it easier for attorneys and business professionals to manage their contract negotiations, regardless of length or complexity. Our market segments are expanding from solely focused on financial services to in-house counsel, commercial real estate, and consulting. Continue reading
